Release Date:
12/14/2005
Akron, OH: Shincor Silicones, a leading manufacturer silicone elastomers, has recently opened a new LIMS Technical Center in Akron, Ohio. The new center was created to support the design of new LIMS products, provide full-scale process development of LIMS materials, and assist customers with training and problem-solving. According to Shincor’s Eric Bishop, “We created the LIMS Technical Center to help customers solve material and production problems and to provide a resource for molding trials, prototyping, production start-up, and training.” Thus far, Shincor has invested $500,000 in plant, equipment, and tooling. The center piece is a 110 ton, All-Electric horizontal liquid injection molding press. Two molds have been purchased—a 4-cavity baby bottle nipple tool complete with cold-runner and valve-gates, and a single-cavity tool designed to overmold silicone onto thermoplastic inserts utilizing Shincor’s unique, primerless Selective Self-Adhesive LIMS. There is ample space for expansion, and Shincor plans to add analytical testing and additional processing equipment. This may include vertical, horizontal, and multi-shot presses. For more information about the new Technical Center or to schedule a trial, please contact Eric Bishop, Marketing Manager, Shincor Silicones, Inc. 513-232-8917 or E-mail: ebishop@shincor.com.
