Comprehensive Product Data Guide Silicones — high-performance materials Combining the features of both organics and inorganics High bonding energy Siloxane bonds (-Si-O-Si-) form the basic backbone of silicone. Siloxane bonds have high bonding energy, and this backbone is the same structure which makes up inorganic materials including glass and quartz. Silicones are thus chemically stable and exhibit outstanding heat and weather resistance. |

DM-FLUID The Shin-Etsu DM-FLUID series is a clear, tasteless dimethyl silicone based liquid, available in viscosities of 0.65 to 1,000,000 centistokes. They are used in many branches of industry because of small viscosity changes with variation in temperature, high thermal oxidative stability, high resistance to shear breakdown, high compressibility, excellent water repellency, high chemical and physiological inertness, and non-stick characteristics. |

Emulsifiers for Cosmetic Products With our distinctive emulsifiers, Shin-Etsu is expanding the possibilities of development for a wide range of cosmetic products. The two main classes of emulsifiers are polyether-modified silicones and polyglycerin-modified silicones. Polyether-modified silicones include linear types, branched types and cross-polymer types, while polyglycerin-modified silicones include branched types and cross-linked types. We also offer distinctive alkyl co-modified emulsifiers. Applying these products enables the development of diverse cosmetic formulations. |
